| The
venue chosen for their birthday party was The
De Vere Belfry in Warwickshire.
A
theme party was chosen: 1960's and 1970's 'Car Wash'
The
main features to the party:
-
The room completed decorated in 1960's / 1970's style
- A
spectacular Disco
- A
Chocolate Fountain
Entrance into the room was through two columns with a large illuminated
sign above it - Car Wash.
Either side of the columns were large perspex (6' high) tanks of
swirling foamy water, uplit it created the atmosphere and set the
scene of the 1970's film, 'Car Wash'. The entrance floor
was a black carpet studded with changing coloured LEDs. A grand
an impressive entrance!
Each
table, as a centre piece had a rotating column (supported on a revolving
turntable) with 45's (vinyll records) jutting off the column on
perspex 'arms'. This was in keeping with the personality and back
ground of Jeremy Kyle - BRM and Virgin Radio DJ.
Jeremy
Kyle is now a popular ITV chatshow host.
A
spectacular Disco with 'flaming fires' blowing beneath the speakers,
a huge Saturday Night Fever painted backdrop, large Elton John-style
platform boots (approx 7' high) on either side of the DJ's console
lit up with light ropes and a whole bank of special lighting effects
made the ambiance to the night something special.
The
Passion for Chocolate Fountain
We
set up the large chocolate fountain with Passion for Chocolate's
'full background rig'. With a number of celebrities, TV executives
and radio 'people' a great photo opportunity was had with many people
taking photos of each other 'decked-out' in a vast array and styles
of 1960's and 1970's garb. Much in evident were 'Afro' hair styles,
a variety of wild wigs and droopy mustaches. Digital cameras, phone-cameras
flashed away all evening around the fountain.
